Dr. Laura Wilson, a native Californian, received her veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis in 2006. During her first year of lectures (parasitology in particular), Dr. Wilson’s interest in dermatology began and further grew as she digitized Kodachrome slides for presentation and publication for Drs. Peter Ihrke and Stephen White (UCDavis) and shadowed Dr. Wayne Rosenkrantz at his private practice during summer vacations. Following a one-year internship at the Florida Veterinary Specialists in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Wilson returned home to Southern California and completed her 3-year dermatology residency at the high-paced private practice of the Animal Dermatology Clinic (Tustin office with Dr. Rosenkrantz and others) and became a board-certified dermatologist in 2010. Dr. Wilson is passionate about all aspects of dermatology, especially getting to know her clients and working with them to provide the best short- and long-term plans to remedy their pets’ dermatologic diseases. She loves the challenge of tailoring treatment plans that a pet will tolerate at home, keeping in mind any emotional, financial or physical limitations of the client.
Dr. Wilson left Southern California for Marin County in May, 2015 and is excited to be working alongside the other doctors and staff at PESCM. While attending The College of William & Mary, Dr. Wilson was a member of the Division I volleyball and track and field teams. Nowadays Dr. Wilson stays active chasing her own allergic dogs, mountain biking and restoring her 1965 Volvo.
